Well motherhood has been very enjoyable & VERY exhausting so far. I don't know what to do with this little kid sometimes. He likes to be held ALL the time. He doesn't take a good nap unless I'm holding him or sleeping right next to him. So needless to say I don't get anything done. He has reverted back to his old ways the past couples of nights. He WILL NOT sleep in his bassinet. He will be sound asleep & the minute we put him in, he knows he is not being held & will wake up! Any ideas?

He is such a cutie! I can see a little of you in him too!
Jolene--Your baby boy is adorable!!!! it was fun to read your post because we are going through the EXACT same things right now. Bennett wants to be held all of the time and will only sleep at night if we hold him. I don't know if these ideas will work for you, but my sister inlaw gave me a baby bijorn (one of those front pack carriers) and I have found that to be a lifesaver during the day. I wear it around the house so that my hands are free, and I love it! Last night I tried having him sleep in his car seat and it worked out pretty good. he likes to be buckled in (I think it makes him feel secure) and it's nice for me too because I don't have to worry about anything smothering him. Hopes this helps a bit--I'll let you know if I figure anything else out! Did you get the invite to our blog? ladies man already huh? what a cutie! I can't wait to meet the little man!
Sleeping, yeah......I have 3 and I don't have too many answers for you. It's pretty rough the first couple of months. I'll give you a call to talk :) My sister has a good suggestion. I've heard of a couple people having their infants sleep in the carseat.
You know what I did, I nursed laying down in our King size bed. They ended up sleeping right next to me a lot( I'd move them in the middle though), but If I woke up they would go back in the bassinet. Sleep was more important to me then putting them in their own crib all of the time.
That's crazy how much he looks like Wade's baby pictures. I wonder if he will always look like him?
I know nobody likes baby advice and every baby is different, but when Hayden was little and wouldn't sleep unless she was being held we put her in a swing that rocked side to side and she loved it! She would sleep in there for hours.(you may remember my blog about it). Anyway it might be something to try.
I agree with Shelley, but I've already told you so, if I was awake after I nursed, I got them back in the bassinet as long as they didn't wake up - if they woke up and fussed they lay down & slept next to me... Don works too many crazy hours and (I think he was teaching seminary when Dayton & Melanie were babies) so he needed his sleep and not waking up all hours of the night with a crying baby. & I was able to sleep too.. as for daytime - swings were a lifesaver for me :) I also had a sling and a front pack too which they loved.
