Camping with work

Here is an update of things I have done at work this summer. I do not have too many pictures to share due to confidentiality, but I happened to find a couple of pictures without any of the kids in them. This summer I went to Moab with work a couple of times. The first camping trip was quite the adventure. We were there only a couple of minutes before our fun started. We were getting ready to set up camp and one of the boys climbed up a huge rock. We told him he was getting to high and needed to come down and help set up tent. Climbing down wasn’t too successful, he ended up sliding down and then fell off the other side about 20-30 feet. We ran over to the other side where he fell off to find him unconscious. That was quite scary. We phoned for help and while we were waiting, he finally regained consciousness. He was very out of it, he had no idea what happened, where he was at, etc. He continued to ask the same question every minute or so and every time we would give him the same answer. His response every time was “no way, really!” Well help finally arrived and they flew him to a trauma hospital. He ended up with stitches on his head, a broken arm, and a pretty banged up body. Other than that the trip was quite successful. We went river rafting down the Colorado River and hiked a couple of hikes to see the arches.

Interesting fact about Delicate Arch. It was originally named Landscape Arch and Landscape Arch was originally named Delicate Arch, but the maps were made with the names switched around, so they just kept the mixed up names. If you have ever been there and have seen both of the arches, I bet you wondered the same thing that I have of how their names did not fit. Landscape arch looks like it is going to break (originally Delicate arch) and Delicate arch (in the picture above) has a beautiful landscape. I just wanted to clear the confusion up.

My co-worker & I rafting on the Colorado River.
Here are some more scenic pictures at Moab. This one is the 3 Priests.
Balancing rock
Use your imagination!! The kids thought this rock was funny. Big booty rock.

These are nice pictures. Was there not that many people at delicate arch when you hiked there?
